Updates in Bing Webmaster Tools
There are new metrics in Microsoft’s Bing Webmaster Tools, which have not been formally announced by Microsoft. The search performance report for Bing has added indexed pages, crawl requests, and crawl errors in their overview. In 2020, the report overview only included total clicks, total impressions, average CTR, and average position.
Why is this important?
You might be wondering why this is important, since you can access crawling reports and indexing reports in other areas, such as the sitemap, URL inspection tool, and crawl control. Yes, that is true! Although with this new metrics, it allows you to see the overview over a set amount of time. So, in other words, it conveniently shows crawling date and indexing data all in the same place.
This change makes it helpful for all users to understand how well their website is performing in the Bing search engine. Since it lets easily allows you to see any crawl errors, and increases/decreases in your organic traffic. This is a useful tool to make the most of in your Bing Webmaster Tools.
